Make the change by Nicholas - March 2017 Scholarship Essay
I would want to give a speech about why senior year of high school is so important. For the students who may think, "ouh I don’t need this, why am I even here, or when will I ever use this in life," I would tell them you're going to need it. All of this is to prepare us for college and life itself.
I would know, because I was one of those students not really taking my classes seriously throughout my high school year. Then as senior year comes around the corner, I started to worry about my grades and my own knowledge of what's going to happen next.
When I started off in high school, I didn’t know what I wanted to be or do when I grow up, no one really knows. All I knew was that I didn’t want it to involve math and/or science. Those were my least two favorite subjects, just like most students. Though as time went on, I found my interest in the ocean and I decided I wanted to major in marine biology. Well, to my surprise it involved math and science and I had to step it up with those two classes my senior year, as I slacked throughout the other years.
So, in other case if you don’t know what you want to do, it’s okay. Just don’t slack off in school, because all your courses will be useful and needed in everyday life. It also prepares you for your ACT and SAT tests that's required for you to go to college. Students need to find self motivation for school. Don't you want that dream job you've thought about? Then you have to go and chase it and only you can do that!
