My Most Inspirational Academic Role-Model by Naz'hae - September 2013 Scholarship Essay

 
            A person who has inspired me would be a good friend of mine; Samuella Tayki-Buachie. She inspires me because she is truly motivational and anyone would be lucky to have her has a friend. Throughout the time that I have known Samuella she has shown me the true meaning of being a leader through her various community service initiatives and she has taught me fantastic leadership qualities. She has inspired me to do more community service because she puts forth the effort to help people in need and she has motivated me to begin getting involved in more community service projects.
            Samuella has inspired me in multiple ways. Whenever I tell her some sort of good news she always replies, “I did not expect anything less.” Because of her confidence in me, it has encouraged me to excel in whatever I do. Having Samuella in my life has taught me to be confident and strong. I now know that I can deal with any issue that life throws at me.  She was there for me when there was no one to talk to about my past; she listened, gave me advice, and mentored me. Because of her budding leadership qualities, and loving personality, she has influenced me to become who I am today. Samuella shares her past experiences good and bad which is another way of how she inspires me. By telling her past experiences it helps me learn from them, she tells me what she did wrong so I will not make the same mistakes in the future. I have realized that making mistakes is pefectly normal because they lead towards self growth.
