Building blocks to your success by mylene - March 2014 Scholarship Essay

When some people think of high school they think of cliques, parties, and sport games. A lot of students don't take high school as serious as they should. They don't realize not every student that goes to high school can say they graduated and received a diploma. That is why graduating high school is my greatest achievement.

High school was still fun and games for me but I still remained focused. I took studying and classes very serious and made sure I passed all my classes. I knew I needed to work hard for myself and for my family. Dropping out of school was never an option for me. I always pictured myself being a helpful hand to the community and finishing high school helped me do that. Getting my diploma was my building block to success. By graduating I opened the door to my next step in life. My diploma helped me get jobs. I also enrolled into college to be a medical assistant.

There are many countries that do not have the opportunities as we do. for example, we are blessed to be able to go to school and have books, computers, and different classes. I was born from a different country that is why I am so grateful because I accomplished something not everyone could. what my mom couldn't teach me at home my teachers taught me at school . High school taught me that hard work does pay off and everything I learned can be used for my future and present.

Over all, being able to walk for graduation, wearing my cap and gown was my dream. Everyone still in high school should stay focused and keep going for your goal. Your diploma will help you in your future. High school was my greatest achievement because I can now further my education and later have a great career.
