The Purpose of Education by Mollie - April 2015 Scholarship Essay

Education is very valuable. In my opinion, the purpose of education is to benefit society. Children go to school at an early age and never stop learning throughout their lives. Society gets more advanced everyday and technology is evolving rapidly. This means that our society needs people that can keep up and understand the progression. People need an education so that society has enough doctors and professions that are necessary. Without education, our society would suffer because citizens would not know how to perform their duties. If people did not get educated, very basic things in society would not function because nobody would have the knowledge on how to make them work. Citizens would live a very basic life and have to learn how to survive by observing others. Education is key in a successful society.

Education is key to living on your own in the future. Education allows one to obtain a job that allows them to support themselves on their own and pay their expenses. Being knowledgeable can get one a more respectable job, meaning higher pay. One learns several things about life in school. They learn how to manage expenses, cook, sew, logic, etc. School allows one to further their education by attending college or poste secondary schooling. This is important because by receiving that diploma, one is bound to earn more money. Education is of high value in the present and all humans can benefit from attending school.
