A Place for Renewal by Melissa - April 2020 Scholarship Essay

A place to create memories, gain relationships through networking, and grow as a person. If we follow our passion these are the circumstances we find ourselves in after we have attended college, the military, or even stayed in the workforce. Although, the difference is that in college you are able to do all that plus obtain a degree specific to your interests and usually a different better mentality. Thus yes, college is important, even if it isn’t relevant to your life.
By going to college, you can learn more about yourself while being surrounded by like-minded people who want to learn more. Not only do you gain knowledge, but life insight through the student organizations, and just different opportunities, offered. Everyone has a different mindset and goal for themselves, when they come together at an educational institution we acquire new outlooks on life.
As for the amount of money that college costs, there are tons of scholarships out there that need to be searched. There is also the ability to attend a community college then transfer out in order to lessen the amount of potential debt. The variety of ways that exist in order to prevent debt is substantial, people just need to find them.
Ultimately, you'll have the advantage of the college experience in your pocket. In the workforce going to college or even technical school is looked upon because people know you increase your intelligence. While in the military teenagers are encouraging to pursue a high degree. No matter the route we choose, college will always be relevant and give us more awareness.
