My advice to an incoming High School Freshman by Meaghan - November 2014 Scholarship Essay

Dear Future Freshman,
My advice to you in this new chapter of your life is do your very best. Always do your homework and go to class. Don't sweat the small stuff. In High School make sure to be true to yourself, and follow your heart. It's okay if you're not an athlete or the most popular person in school. Life isn't a popularity contest. Learn to not care what people think about you.

You should always take school seriously. No one ever tells you how hard it is out in the real world. Ever since you are little you always want to be older. It isn't until you're that you realize how much better off you were in High School. You should try and make it the best four years that you can. Also don't worry so much about boys/girls. You have your whole life to find someone. Don't feel pressured to find someone in High School. Never let someone pressure you into anything you don't want to. Whether it be alcohol, drugs, or sex. If someone is bullying you online, or at school always tell someone.

In conclusion, don't be too scared going into your Freshman year. Everyone else has insecurities. Even the most popular kids in school. Learn to embrace your quirks and love yourself no matter what. Good luck!
