Leadership skills are not necessary for success in college. College is a place where students go to further their education in a specific field. Universities have multiple majors to offer, both on a campus and online environments. So now, anyone is capable of either going back to school or starting a degree no matter what lifestyle. So to possess leadership skills is good for a person seeking a specific major involving other people or a role where they would have to lead others. Leadership skills are not required because college is a self-driven act of finishing all that you came to do.

Leadership skills may be necessary in a work place if your job description requires it, but college is provided for the improvement of the individual. Each person comes to college expecting the result of graduation which is only achieved if the student puts in the time and effort appropriate for each class. Leadership may help the student enjoy college life but if success is graduation and getting a job then self-driven qualities will be a stronger path toward the end goal.

To be successful in college a person has to commit themselves to working hard in order to achieve their goals set as a student. College requires self-discipline and time management skills both in and out of class. Each individual student obtains a personal responsibility to his/ her grades and actions outside of the classroom. Even in an online class students need to know and schedule time to complete assignments and study enough to understand the material. To further one’s education you need to have motivational skills that will help you through college life.

College is a great place to grow up into the man or woman we want to be. College provides an experience of fun but also an environment where we can learn more about what we want to do with our future. College is where we decide who we will be in the long run and if you have leadership skills, then use them and develop them to help others through life. And by helping others you might reach the next level of success where you will have fulfillment in life. Therefore, leadership skills are not necessary in college because being successful is a personal assessment and can only be graded by one setting the goal of whether or not they achieved it. Although leadership skills are not necessary for success in college they will enrich your own life by the people you touch through it.
