If I was to give my teacher a piece of advice to help me learn it would be to try and make the material something I can relate to. If I have a little bit of freedom and choice with the projects I am assigned I'm more likely to put more effort into that activity. If I can personalize my work to match my interests and have more choice with topics and projects, I will have more enthusiasm when it comes to school.

From what I have noticed in my years at school is that when my fellow classmates and myself are given more choices it usually leads to us learning rather than just remembering.when given a large chapter about a topic to study and take notes on, I sometimes have a hard time keeping focus and by the end I usually can't even remember half the things that was said in the first section. But when given a topic or a choice of topics to write a report on, I am able to put thought and creativity into what I'm learning and the facts I find are a lot more likely to stick in my head.

I know that doing projects all the time is not a plausible idea but I think that if we need to study a chapter of a textbook we should be given freedom to study it in a way that we know will help us learn. For example, If I make note cards, I'm more likely to remember the information rather than if I was taking Cornell style notes.
