Have you ever tried to work with a group of people who don’t know what they are doing? Well, all you need is a leader to guide this group towards a success. In college I feel as if leaders are essential. They are the people who direct you towards the ultimate goal. But in college everyone has different goals that they want to achieve, leading up to colleges need many students who are able to lead their peers.

Personally I am the Editor and Chief of my high school yearbook. I had little experience with being a leader, but this year has made me realize that I can be a good leader. The most important part of being a leader is being respectful towards who you are leading, because if they do not respect you then you have little to no chance to get through to them. Also an important part of leadership is to know your part, you can’t do everything by yourself and even though you may have the title does not mean others are not wanting to help you.

In college you are preparing yourself for the future. Being a leader has so many positives that it can bring you. It gives you the responsibility of people depending on you. It also brings so many skills to your life including management, social and problem-solving. All these things are important in college especially, but also outside of college in the life that you are creating for yourself in going to college.
