Robbert J. Oppenheimer once said “No man should escape our universities without knowing how little he knows.” He said this because he believes that there is so much more to learn and discover. I believe that college is important to learn and achieve every goal. Many go to college to get the experience of college entertainment and not for the experience of learning new things. College is defined as an institution others may go to to receive higher education, a specialized profession, and vocational training. In order to do and achieve those things you have to go to college.
In our community, many people want to get a certain profession. They all want to pursue their dreams and goals in life. Unfortunately, you can not just apply to be a doctor and get in with no education. In order to become a doctor you have to go to college and learn for many years to get your masters and other degrees or certifications. It is important to go to college to get an education for the profession you want so that you can excel in your career.
A lot of people in their futures want a good paying job to support their families. Most good paying jobs require you to have gone to college. For example in order to become a dentist or nurse you are required to go to college because no one wants someone working on them with no experience. Most jobs out there require you to have college experience. Without it you will most likely not get the job and that is one of the many reasons that college is important.
Lastly, college is important to make sure that you are satisfied with your profession. In 2015 to 2016 four percent of the workforce switched occupations and it may not be a lot but they still were not satisfied. When going to college there is always the option of switching your major so you do end up doing something you love. Taking various classes helps to be certain of the major that is truly fit for you. College is crucial for those looking for something that they really love that has higher pay.
In conclusion, college is very important especially if you want to rise to the top of your career. College helps to achieve goals, higher pay, and satisfaction in the future. College is crucial for those you want to excel and persevere in life. In the words of Judd Apatow, “College is a reward for surviving high school”. So do not take it for granted.
