Education is a right by lucia - January 2021 Scholarship Essay

Education is greatly valued everywhere you go. It is praised if you have received any form of education, but having no education is frowned upon. For higher paying jobs, it is required to have some type of higher education to be hired. Since it’s highly requested and praised to have an education, many would think it is accessible to everyone. The reality is in the United States everyone is able to get their High School Diploma but not a college degree. Many citizens aren’t able to get a higher education because of the cost of colleges and universities. Education should be a right because everyone needs it to help them succeed in life and can harm society.

Society tells their citizens to follow their dreams and to be successful in life. Many of these citizens can’t because of the requirement of having a higher education. Colleges and universities have extremely high cost of tuition that many people can’t afford. Restricting knowledge by asking for money in exchange is awful. Everyone needs knowledge to help them succeed in life. No matter the situation the person is in, education shouldn’t be limited. Knowledge is a powerful tool to have in life because it can help many to reach their dreams or help them discover themselves. Most people who go to college are somewhere in their early 20s and haven’t figured out who they are. Learning new ways of thinking and new information can help a person understand what their purpose is. There are different definitions of success for each person. One can be getting their dream job or being happy. If getting a higher education can lead others to success, why are there restrictions on knowledge? Education should be a right because it helps everyone reach their definition of succeeding in life.

As stated, having some type of education is valued greatly in society. It helps bring in more people to jobs which increases the economy. Since having some form of education can help the economy, it is common for people to get into a college or university, but it’s not true. The cost of tuition and the other costs need to live at the college can be the reason why most don’t get a higher education. This makes less and less people want to get a higher education because of the cost. By making colleges and universities inaccessible towards the public, can harm the economy in the long run. As stated before, knowledge is a powerful tool to have in life. Society needs people to think of new ways for solutions, which can be increased by providing education. If there are less individuals going to college, there will be less people thinking of new ideas and have more and more problems. Restricting a person of knowledge can harm society in the long run. Whether it be from less money being deposited into the economy or people not thinking of new ways for problems. Education is a right everyone should be given.

Everyone should have a choice if they want to go to college or not. It is not right that only the people with money are able to apply. There are many individuals who want to learn to expand their mind or get their dream job. Every person wants to be successful in life but aren’t given the right materials to succeed. Education should be a right for everyone. Knowledge shouldn’t be limited based on economic situations or any other reason. It can help society expand to great lengths.
