Schools harsh restrictions by Leah - July 2017 Scholarship Essay

I understand that there are many restrictions in every school, but some restrictions go over the limit. An example of a harsh restriction is that you have to wear a certain type of shoe like if it was a sandal, you have to have a back at the end of the sandal and that restriction is just not that important to even become a rule against students. Shoes shouldn't matter if we already have dress code policies we have to follow. Another thing is we shouldn't have to eat school lunch that they require because its sometimes nasty and not everyone likes the food. Teachers try to convince us students to at least eat the lunch food, but the truth is, its nasty and we don't want food thats not good. When it's winter, we can wear sweaters, but not big coats and i don't know why, but honestly it can get pretty cold out and thats why coats exist.
Honestly there are some rules to every school that sound ridiculous. So my topic is harsh restrictions that every school has of some sort that schools need to lay back on. I understand why there is dress code, but some things like shoes or lunch or something so simple needs to change. I picked this topic because i hear every kid complain about something about their school and not just dress code, but other things. I can somewhat feel how others feel on certain things and this is why this is my topic. Every kid might not understand dress code, but no one really understands why we have to eat food that isn't good. This topic i think is a big deal for most kids/teens and I'm speaking on their be half. This topic is a big deal to kids who go to school, including me and thats why i picked this topic. I just want people to know that schools have restrictions that aren't necessary sometimes and sometimes it has to change.
