The Ideal Classroom Environment by Laura - October 2014 Scholarship Essay

As a fundamental basis for all education, the classroom is the beginning of a bright future. Classrooms are what we all started off from since the very first year of attending school. Ideally, the best classroom environment that would help me succeed in my education is one where it fitted my personality and needs. Personally, I am a student who prefers a quiet setting than that of one which is far too rambunctious. It must always be neat and tidy as well to fit in with my ideal requirements. As far as the visual aspect goes, a classroom with color and motivational posters are much more prefers than just dull and white walls. My favorite classrooms have always been the ones with a window. It gives a beautiful view of the outside scenery and also leaves room for more imagination.

However, the classroom environment does not have to limit itself to just the classroom. Students and teachers are a fundamental aspect of what makes a classroom. Teachers who are organized and with more teaching experience are always the ones who are always more dependable on. In addition to that, teachers who take into consideration of timid students are always greatly respected in my opinion. Growing up, I have always had to be taught by those who thought that speaking in front of others was easy. It is a hard concept to grasp for most individuals to believe that one can break out if their shell in a day. It has taken me over several years to finally come to terms with my shyness and change it so that I could become a better speaker. One teacher that I fondly remember was in my sophomore year of High School. My teacher knew about my problem and we both solved it with a series of small steps. After many presentations, my communication skills have excelled and my public speaking has improved.

Furthermore, students who are also connected with each other usually have more of an amicable relationship in a class room environment. Throughout my High School experience, I have always been grouped up in classrooms with the same students every year. This is due to the fact that we are all a part of an advanced educational program that lasts four years. The one main factor for a comfortable environment is consistency. It plays a key part in a student’s role in a classroom. It determines whether he or she will succeed or just pass by in a class and whether they will speak out or not.

Consequently, every single unit, such as teacher, student, and the classroom itself, make up for an ideal environment for a better education.
