If you could add a subject to the American high school curriculum, which would you choose and why? by Kyle - August 2015 Scholarship Essay
If I was given the opportunity to be able to add a subject to the American high school curriculum, the subject I would choose to add would focus on mastering the art of conscious creation.
Our brains are bombarded daily with thousands of stimuli from the time we are conceived. These stimuli consist of information, that include other people’s thoughts, beliefs, judgments and even feelings. Unknowingly we take on all this information and create our life based on this all the while assuming it is our own ideas. In the end we wind up working jobs or living a life, we are not happy with and we have no idea why.
If students were taught in high school how to ask specific questions to help them gain clarity on what thoughts are actually their own and taught specific conscious creation tools; such as, affirmations, goal writing, meditation, vision boards, or scripting their life story, it would help them direct their focus so they are the one truly creating the life they want to live.
If mastering the art of conscious creation was added to the American high school curriculum, I feel the success rate for students to excel in careers would exponentially multiply. They would be making choices that make them happy. They would have the clarity to design their life. They would be living their bliss not someone else’s.
