New Year, New Me. by Kristina - December 2020 Scholarship Essay
While “New Year, New Me” is totally cliche, it’s also a very accurate statement. It’s a group consensus that 2020 was rough, for many reasons. A new year is a fresh start for us all, myself included.
I’ve reflected a lot on this last year and although it’s been a trying one, I’m ready to focus on a bright new start and nothing will hold me back. I am the type of person who always helps others and finds a great deal of joy in that. I will never stop helping others but I’ve realized that I have lost the drive to help myself so that is what this next year will be.
I found your website for the fact that I made a huge decision to apply to Law School. I am terrified but excited for this next chapter of my life. I believe that if you work hard and really focus on a goal, you can absolutely achieve it. With that being said, my educational resolution for 2021 is to put myself first, get into Law School and excel tremendously.
I personally think I would be a great asset in this field because as mentioned above, I have a passion for helping others, however, I am a huge advocate for following the rules. I genuinely love school and I’m ready to start off the new year, full speed ahead.
