2021: The new year we have all been waiting for by Kirra - December 2020 Scholarship Essay
I think we can all agree that 2020 was a year no one could have imagined. For many of us, our new year’s resolutions were cut short, interrupted, or never even started. Every year I try to start the new year with several goals for myself to push me to be a better person. For 2021 I have set many goals for myself to help mold and form me into the person I want to become.
Among my many goals, my main educational new year’s resolution, or educational goal, is to push myself to learn as much as I can to be the best nurse in the future. I finished my first semester of nursing school in the fall of 2020 with straight A’s. I worked, and still work, in the emergency department at Flagstaff Medical Center as an emergency technician which has aided in my education. This is because I learn so much not only in a classroom but on the weekends at my job as well. I would also like to finish 2021 with straight A’s and with pride that I have put all of my efforts into my education and I was able to learn, and retain, so much about a profession I am so excited to be a part of. I would like to walk out of 2021 knowing I have the education, knowledge, and passion to make me one step closer to being the best nurse I can be.
