One. by Kharisma - March 2015 Scholarship Essay

High school is just a memory now. College dawns like a new spring day. Freshmen scamper around like baby chicks, vulnerable and scared. Still wet behind the ears and dizzy. Sometimes one gets lost. Who helps turn them around and points them in the right direction? Leaders. Who help the little ones sort out classes and makes sure they're on the road towards their dreams? Leaders. College would be a place of fallen faces and dubiety without the leaders that greet us upon arrival. There the stepping stones toward our destiny. The ones we turn to for guidance. The one that roots for us and believe in us when we can't even believe in ourselves. The ones that build aspiration by pointing the way towards our destiny.

Leadership dwells in the seemingly feeble freshman too. Orientation could come to a hushed silence, but one leader would ask the question everyone else was afraid to ask. One leader could start the club everyone was hoping to join, One leader could build a start-up company from their dorm. One can change the way the world thinks. One can protest social issues on campus, one can start movements.

One leader can move and shake the world.
