The book you need to read by Kayleen - February 2015 Scholarship Essay

Everyone in high school reads To Kill a Mockingbird, or Animal Farm. Those are needed books to learn important values, but on your own free time you should pick up the book Eragon. The author, Christopher Paolini began writing the book when he was only 15. This is a science fiction book but it really gets your imagination going.

When I was first introduced to the book I was really hesitant because I am not a big fan of science fiction books they never really seem to interest me. I always thought that they were to complicated or to hard to follow. But Eragon always keeps you wanting more. It does this thing where it draws you in and all you want is more. Luckily if you enjoy Eragon there are three more books in the series, but if you decided that dragons and dwarfs aren't your thing then that's fine, at least you tried. Also if you enjoyed The Lord of The Rings then you would enjoy this book as well.

I think that it is important to read books that draw you in and get your imagination going. When you get older you tend to lose you imagination and you start to lose your creativity. Sparking your imagination could help you when you get stuck at work or you need to watch kids and come up with fun things to keep them busy.
