Just Be Happy by Kathleen - August 2013 Scholarship Essay
Having been in many different classes through out the past few years there have been many different lessons but none that have made more sense to me then the lesson that I learned in my psychology class. The lesson was to be happy in life. It seems like it is the simpliest of lessons but it has many different levels. To be happy you have to learn about yourself, about what you like and about what you feel. You have to learn how you interact with people on a daily basis and be true to yourself and not fake it. I thought that I was happy in life but after that lesson I found that I had to make my life matter and take account of my own life and just be happy. Being happy in life should be a simple thing to accomplish and I made myself learn what made me happy, which I found out was not very easy. It was not easy because I always tried to make everyone else in my life happy before myself. I had to learn that making goals for myself and reaching them made me happy. I found that a simple thing like eating cheese on my popcorn and being able to eat ice cream without feeling anxious about gaining weight was an ok thing for me and it made me happy. I found it so gratifying that it made me happy. This was a very important lesson for me to learn because it made me feel whole again and not getting tossed around in life just wandering what else I could possibly do for anyone and everyone else. Who knew that I could learn a life lesson in a psychology class, Just Be Happy.
