A dream classroom for me is to have all students who can’t afford to go to school, or any kind of problems that hold them back from the education they deserve. Everyone should have an opportunity for it, but sadly many don’t get to experience it. There would be no discrimination, or bullying. Everyone would help each other out and strive for success. That way anyone can have a chance to reach their full potential. With this happening, it can help me excel as a student because I believe everybody is equal and should be seen that way.
Having healthy bonds in the class can support you along the way to the journey. You can’t start a journey without snacks though, so there would be unlimited snacks to choose, ranging from healthy to take out menu at restaurants. Students would be allowed to eat whenever, but to clean after themselves. Utensils would be provided, and napkins! Learning on an empty stomach isn’t good. Yet many students go to school hungry and rely on school food to keep them energized. If I was in their shoes, I would LOVE if my class gave out free food. Plus I wouldn’t have to worry about going hungry in class.
Just like how there would be physical assistance, there would be mental support as well. Without this, everyone tends to not focus enough in school. Fidget toys would be given to who ever wants to use them and will ALWAYS be cleaned / disinfected afterwards. This has proven to help students when they feel distracted or need a little break. If I had these in my classroom, then I would have a clear mind, and feel comfortable with my peers.
Using several methods to learn one topic is useful for learning in different perspectives. This could range from games to experiments, that way it is hands on instead of lectures. Each individual understands concepts in their own way, so by teaching them in multiple ways, it gives them a greater sense of knowledge of what they are learning. I can support this because there have been times where I learn better a certain way, than the other. Based on what I’ve talked about is how I would want my dream classroom to be like in order to succeed in the present and in the future.
