The perpis of an educashin is being able to comunikate. Yeah, if you can’t communicate your ideas to others, then the purpose of education is lost on you. Education gives people a way to express new ideas, concepts, and technologies. Without the ability to communicate, civilizations would revert backwards and eventually fizzle out.

Me happy, rock big! If no one understands your new ideas when you attempt to communicate them, then all is lost in translation. In order for others to understand your research, you have to be able to explain your findings to them in a way you both understand. They have to be able to ask you questions and to derive conclusions from your results. Education is the entire basis for the scientific method. You must be able to form a question, create an experiment to test that question, draw a conclusion, AND be able to communicate your findings. If you can’t communicate the findings, then the research is no good to anyone else.

Education plays a big role in life. From day one we teach our kids how to eat, how to reach, how to stand, and how to play. Some things are inherent. A child can come out of the womb and immediately know how to eat. Some things need to be taught, like walking. Observation is key to learning. Observing other people performing tasks is the first way babies learn. After they soak up all they can from watching, we need to explain things to them.

Why? It seems, sometimes, as if my daughter only knows one word, “why?”. She wants to know why everything is however it is. She wants to know why there are clouds, why she can’t only eat candy, and why the grass is green. She wants to be able to understand everything in her little world. Sometimes, I don’t even know the answers to her questions. But since I understand the importance of education, I will look up the correct answer with her and we will learn together.

Progress is the reason for education. Evolution of our world has only been made possible through education. Without the wheel being invented and explained and recreated, we wouldn’t be dreaming of a future with flying cars. We wouldn’t even know what cars were in the first place. Without advancements in science and safety, we wouldn’t be living as long as we are. Because of education there may someday be a cure for cancer.

I want to live in a world where everyone understands not only the purpose for education, but the importance of education. If we can all get behind educating ourselves and our future generations, the possibilities would be boundless.
