Students should develop leadership skills because college education can be viewed as a stepping stone to achieve these things. Companies want to hire people who can lead and influence others not followers. Those skills can be developed in the class rooms, community agency ministry and also through volunteer work.

Leaders always want to achieve something, do something and make a change or difference. Leaders must have ability to relate to something they want to change. People always look up to leaders who can relate to them, impact them and make a difference in their lives.

A leader should have integrity. If people or followers lose their trust in them, they will never follow him. Leaders must have integrity to lead an honest life. Leaders should have a vision and goal to achieve what they want. They should plan and think well before they can reach their goals.

They should celebrate others, admiring and inspiring the followers. At the same time, they should evaluate themselves and others. They should be able to build an organization where they can stand as a role model and encourage others around them.

Therefore leadership plays a vital role in enabling a person to progress in his college education.
