Fine Your Success by Julia - April 2020 Scholarship Essay
Like one of my favorite quotes I found one day on google, “There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs.” As much as students wish they could leave high school and already get their dream job, there will come a time your future employer will want to see your educational background. Having a college degree is beneficial in career opportunities, like acquiring better pay and achieving higher skilled jobs. College can help give you these opportunities.
College is important for many reasons. This event includes long-term financial gain, job stability, career satisfaction, and success outside of the workplace. Some careers require advanced education, and a college degree is critical in these situations. Our workforce is getting more advanced everyday. A single worker can’t teach every new employer the skills they need in their career. College gives you knowledge and hands on skills you need to be ready for such work. Not to mention those with a college degree could also recieve better health and a better boast of happiness. “94% of adults with a bachelor's degree or higher reported being happy or very happy with life, compared to 89% of adults with no college education, according to the Lumina Foundation report” (Lumina Foundation). Everyone deserves to be happy, happiness is working hard with great people, like those you will find in college.
Not only will college help bring you many opportunities, but most of all, it's an experience. Attending college lets you branch out and find who you are. You take different classes, learn different material, and for most, that sparks a career path. Coming out of high school, a handful of people don't know what career they want to branch in. College can help with that. For those who do know, college can help branch your knowledge so much more. You meet people of the same interest, you experience the college life on your own, and going to college makes you realize, you're an adult now. College is a chance to make friends, practice living independently, take classes you want to take, intern at a businesses for experience, then transition to work, and start your independent life.
Most will say college is challenging to complete, but nothing worth having comes easy. Get the degree, and you will be set free. After college life will be ready for you, now it's up to you to achieve your success and nail that future job interview.
