Passion by Jennifer - September 2014 Scholarship Essay
When you were growing up, what did you want to be? Were you the stay at home Mom? Did you play school and were the teacher your friends looked up to? How about the nurse/doctor who walked around with the play stethoscope listening to your Mom’s and Dad’s heartbeat? As you grow up, you realize all of these childhood dreams have one main thing in common: Passion. That passion is your heart and soul that propels you into the future, into the perfect college, your dream career, and your unforgettable life.
So what is passion? How can one little seven letter word hold so much power in it? Easy, it is the fire that burns inside you. If you do not have that fire, that power, that drive…you will have nothing that keeps you going. Elementary school and high school is something that is required. It is someone guiding you, telling you what to do, and making decisions for you. When you make the choice to enter college, it is finally your time. You choose something as simple as when you want to take your classes, to as complex as what that diploma is going to going to say on graduation day. That passion is what is in between. It is what makes you want to get up and go to class. It gives you the energy to stay up all night to finish that paper or study for that final exam. It grabs your attention and holds it. After graduation, if you wake up with that same passion and want to go to your job and want to keep learning something new every day, you have succeeded in life.
