If I could give a speech to a school wide audience it would be about Immigration. The topic of immigration today is very controversial. Some people feel immigrants shouldn't be allowed to enter the US and others feel there is nothing wrong. Personally, I am for immigration. If I was able to give a speech to a school wide audience about immigration I would let the audience know exactly how I feel. Banning immigration is unfair. It is unequal.
Why should color and ethnicity have borders? We are all human and deserve equal opportunities in life. Many immigrants come to the United States in need of finding opportunities and a better life. Everyone deserves to have hope for their future. Yes, there are some immigrants who have come and caused harm in our country by doing illegal activities but we cant stereotype the whole immigrant population because of that. There are plenty of legal citizens who do things to harm our country as well. The best thing to do is keep the legal system going and let the criminals get what they deserve. If an immigrant is caught doing illegal activity, then they should be punished and sent back to their country. Lets punish those who do wrong in our country, not those who are in need, and looking for a better life.
Building a wall to prevent immigrants from entering our borders is unjust. A wall will be a waste of money. We the people of the United States will be the ones funding the wall with our tax money. Money we could be spending on improving our healthcare or education. Immigrants are people too and we all deserve equal rights! Lets find a way to legally allow immigrants who are looking for a better life obtain it. Immigrants already have many obstacles, lets not let deportation be one!
