Discovering My Future Calling by James - August 2013 Scholarship Essay

Warrington Welcome was the most interesteing class I've ever taken. A class that I took this past summer at the University of Florida, it helped me discover my passion for a future career. My favorite lesson was called Wandering Strategies. This lesson focused on identifying what career we were interested in pursuing and all the steps we'd need to take in order to accomplish our goal. With the information we gathered, we had to present our method of choice in front of the class during a three minute time span. Personally, I want to be a sport's and entertainment agent. I recognized that there were certain classes I would need to take to stay on track of my major during the next four years. I also uncovered certain programs within the Fischer School of Accounting that would help me aquire higher degrees and stand out in my profession. Once I've earned my bachelor's degree, I know that I will need to get my Agent Certificate as well as seeking both a master's degree and my J.D. from a law school. Everything else comes from networking. Whether I find a firm to work for, or open up my own practice, I need to find representation. This lesson really inspired me to work as hard as possible towards my goal of becoming a successful agent. Thanks to this lesson, I have a great drive and dedication towards my education and future career.
