Favorite teacher of all-time by Jamall - July 2014 Scholarship Essay

There are many teachers who have affected my attitude towards education. Some caused me to feel negatively towards it and some were able to show me the bright side. The one who stood out the most would have to be my theater teacher and also friend Eric Vera. He is one big piece of why I am in college today.

He pretty much showed me that through hard work and staying on top of your tasks, you can concur anything that’s in your way. He always pushed me to my limit. He taught me to get out of my comfort zone and going the extra mile in not just education but anything I do. You never know who is watching you and knows that you are actually trying.

Mr. Vera made learning fun for me, never easy and always challenging. I get my work methods from him. With me being pretty much one of his favorite students, I help out numerous of times and didn’t mind staying late after school. I was staying late after school so much that my parents thought I was getting detention, until they talk to Mr. Vera.

He has done a lot for me and still does today. He is the best teacher I have ever had, and that has yet to change.
