My Journey by Jaiden - May 2021 Scholarship Essay
There were some challenges throughout the school year due to the pandemic. Being an honor roll student during my year’s early childhood to now high school years I found it difficult to maintain my grades being at home. It was a huge adjustment from being around people all day to now going to school in my room on a computer. It turned the learning environment from fun and exciting to now boring and seem like a job. That caused me to decline in my work ethic, I was turning assignments in late, or not completing them. I was not fulling paying attention in class and easily distracted by things I had available in my home.
A light bulb went off for me, instead of dwelling on how things are drastically different for us being in a in person learning environment I could use this time to study things that would be helpful to me when I head off to college. I started researching information on the schools that interest me, participating in more activities that were available during class time. It’s important for me to exceed my own expectations on my education and career path. I continue to seek a better understanding on how I will excel in life by getting assistance from my counselor and advisors.
I’m in a program that assist with transition from High School to college or ready skills for working in fields where a college degree is not required. I use the resources that are providing by the program and tutors to assist with making sure I graduate with honors and will continue my education and apply all the things that will make me successful in my career.
