Education serves as a solid foundation to intelligence. However, when we think of education, we often vision sitting in a class room learning about meaningless information that will not benefit us in any kind of way. But does mean education does not have a purpose?

The purpose of education is to enhance our knowledge of the world that provides unlimited opportunities of obtaining new ideas. Education serves as an essential element that everybody in this world is obligated to have. Without education, how do we expect to make new inventions, share new ideas, and introduce new information that can benefit the world? Education can come in many forms. Education can be reading a book or studying an animal from afar. Education can be an intellectual conversation among other people. People forget that education is literally at our fingertips. With improved technology today, we can discover the world at the press of a button.

The purpose of education has improved mankind over the years. We dominate because we have the drive to learn more information. Although school may be a prime example of a “purposeless” education, we tend to forget that most of the information we know today came from school. Basic skills such as reading and writing are popular and express our opinions in the social world. Education’s purpose was to educate one so we can all think be ourselves in our own ways. The deprivation of education from slaves proves how much of a purpose education served; if one is educated, one can think for themselves.

Overall, the purpose of education is to enlighten our minds and differentiate us from each other. Without education, we fail to take advantage of all the sublime information that awaits us in this world. It is our duty to take upon that opportunity.
