My Thoughts on Education in 50 Years. by Hailey - May 2020 Scholarship Essay
Education has evolved immensely from decade to decade. But, how much more can it really change? Well, I believe education is going to keep changing more and more as the years go by. Many people have taken steps to provide a better education for the youth, and I believe they'll continue to do so. The years I've been in school have changed drastically already and its going to keep changing.
I believe that in 50 years, schools are going to be more high tech. I believe its going to involve more computers and laptops with higher upgrades and more sufficiency. Schools in general are going to be more high tech. For instance, I believe getting around school will even be more efficiently run for time sake. Such as installing such things as escalators or incorporating teachers moving instead of students like some other countries already incorporate. Schools are going to have a lot more efficiently run classes and maybe even shorter classes. I believe this because it is said there is more efficiency getting a lot done in a shorter amount of time, then there is spending forever on one task, and because students loose focus after a longer time period in one setting/classroom. I also believe schools are going to have figured out how to incorporate a later start time along with fitting in after school activities. They'll start to realize that students grades will start to improve and there will be less students falling asleep in class and more being eager to learn.
Another big decision i believe schools are going to make, is instead of having teachers at all, I believe they'll start having more online courses or what you would call, TV screen learning kind of like distance learning already. I think they'll have more students coming into school but not having a teacher physically present, but on a screen instead. That way teachers would perform shorter class periods and students could still see friends and do their schoolwork just without the teacher. Along with this, I believe they'll then provide more tutors, or certain school hours where students could either go home or stay at school to take time to ask questions on what was maybe discussed in an earlier class.
In conclusion, I believe schools are going to become way more high tech and efficiently ran. They'll incorporate shorter days which would provide the ability for schools to start later and still perform after school activities. They'll focus on keeping the students eager and not too tired or exhausted to learn.
