The world is always changing around us as new inventions and innovations are created. Education is the building block to our society especially in this new generation where our world is filled with technology like a never ending science project.Throughout history the importance of education has shifted and varies with every passing generation. For example in the early days of man education was learning how to properly make a tool or hunt to ensure survival. Now education is seen as having the ability to read and write or attend some type of higher education facility. As time goes on the importance of education constantly changes and the value of education increases infinitely. In a modern society such as the one we live in education can be the difference between success and failure therefore education should be a right everyone should have access to.

In the past education used to be seen as a privilege. Education was something that was taken and held hostage from those who were deemed unworthy of it. No one should have to earn the right to learn and grow their knowledge. Examples of the with holding of knowledge can be seen in times of slavery where it was illegal for slaves to learn to read or write because that would mean they were better than what they were made out to be which intimidated those who oppressed them. People throughout history all over the world and in almost every culture fought for education because it represents the golden ticket to equality. Education and knowledge plays a major role in our existence and our survival. In documents such as The Declaration of Independence the right of education is solidified so no man, woman, or person can ever take it away from you therefore proving education is a basic human right.

Education has now been made to be more accessible to everyone. Twenty years ago education was scarce and was not as accessible and provided as a basic right for everyone. There are also positive and negatives to the fact that education has been made more accessible. There is high demand for education but since it has been made more accessible and generalized because more people have access it is made to be a minimum requirement for most jobs and a necessity for most people to have a successful fruitful life in society. For example most jobs require some type of college degree or certification because education has been made so accessible to people. For careers such as engineering or medical education is very important. The medical and engineering fields are very influential in our society because these two fields spearhead the majority of technological innovation to raise our standard of living and push the boundaries are technological innovations and science.

Education also has many physical benefits in our society. A good education if used to its maximum potential can provide financial security, and allows for self dependency. It can also be used to help achieve higher paying jobs, and can show us the difference between good and bad right or wrong. A well rounded mind will also provide us the opportunity to explore the world through different views and expand our minds. In this generation the number of people interested in the medical, engineering, and STEM fields has skyrocketed proving yet another reason why education should be a right provided to everyone. Overall education now is more important and a definitive more prominent factor to guarantee success in our modern day society.Education is the multipurpose tool to success. You just have to know what to do with it.
