Advice To Incoming High School Freshman by Georgejet - November 2014 Scholarship Essay

Congratulations! You've made it to high school. If you're anything like me when I was starting high school, I know your emotions are all over the place right now. You're probably feeling a mixture of nervous, lost, and excited. You're in a new environment surrounded by new people so of course your emotions might be a little but jumpy. You may be confused on what to do and what to expect during these next major four years of your life and that is where I come in. I'm here to give you advice that will help benefit you your freshman year and for the rest of your high school career.

No matter what you do your freshman year, make sure you do not slack on your education. I can not stress this enough. Most people go into freshman year carefree and unaware of the consequences of doing poorly on tests and assignments. They say "oh, I'll do better next time" band keep repeating this until there's no more next time left. Freshman year is a very easy year in high school. Therefore, you should take advantage of it. As the years go by, the work load only increases. Don't wait your junior/senior year to try to increase your weak gpa because that just makes things much harder and almost impossible with such little time left. Prioritize your time. Try your best in all your classes, ask for help when you need it, involve yourself with academic clubs that'll help benefit you educationally. Remember, the longer you procrastinate and put things off, the harder your life will be in the long run. So with this being said, go into your freshman year with your best face forward and with as much motivation and ambition as possible. And don't forget to have fun!
