Create impact and change the world by Folahan - March 2017 Scholarship Essay

Have you ever looked at someone and immediately perceived them just by how they look, or maybe laugh at the "weird-looking" person minding their own business-locked your door when a suspicious person walks by? Even I have judged people in the sense that I just described-in truth, most of us have done that. But my real question is why do we do that. Why do we do to others what we don't want done to ourselves? Have we become so full of ourselves that we can't even acknowledge the person who sits by alone due to their hopelessness in humanity. These "weird people" have excluded from sports, from yearbooks, from our cliques, and from others.
This is not meant to make students feel ad for having friends or for having certain views about others, but don't judge others and be inclined for others to judge you....A simple wave or greeting could impact someone's life significantly. Create positive impact and change, things in life should not always remain the same. If not for Martin, Rosa, and more, oppression and segregation would still affect us now. I charge you to act today, act now. Leave a legacy, make a pact to change the status of this high school.
