Education Transformation by Erykah - May 2020 Scholarship Essay
Education will have a drastic change in the next 50 years. If you look back in the past, there are so many ways that education has changed in America and all over the world. Education has changed socially, financially, and technical-wise and I believe it will continue to do the same. Right now, students of all ages have access to so much information so it is almost impossible to keep learning. If we don’t know something, we can easily google it and find the answer and so much more in a matter of seconds. We don’t have to go to a library to hopefully find a book that has the answer. Hours and days of research can be done by a high schooler in minutes. Young adults are able to do published research with the stuff that is learned on the internet.
Teens are so much smarter and have so much potential. However, not all kids have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Yes, we all have access to learn so much at our fingertips, but not all kids can use it. Not every kid will be able to go to college, or even finish high school. When our generation grows up, we will probably still encourage our kids to go to college because most jobs need some sort of degree. There will always be a need for doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc. However, we would probably loosen the stigma of not going to college. There will be more opportunities for kids without degrees because kids will be more inspired to take them. Kids could even be more encouraged to go to trade schools.
Another way that education will change is that there is much more that has been discovered so there will be so much more to learn. The material will most likely be harder, in more detail, and classes that high schoolers take could even be taken at a middle school level. Some of the stuff I learned during my freshman year of high school my parents didn’t learn till they were well into college. School is just gonna get harder and harder.
I hope that education will become more accessible for everyone. College will hopefully be cheaper (or maybe even free). All kids should be able to have the opportunity to succeed and be able to get the schooling that they want or need, regardless of their current status. Hopefully, all students will be able to achieve equal opportunity in there elementary and secondary schooling so they can all be prepared for higher education.
