50 years from now... by Emily - May 2020 Scholarship Essay

Fifty years from now in a galaxy not so far away...you will be sitting in the convenience of your bedroom. Then suddenly, an alarm goes off at 8:55 am. You get up from where you are sitting and move from your bedroom to the office, where you have your computer and a big screen set up. A notification pops up at precisely 9 am sharp on your computer screen. You press 'accept' on the screen, and then a hologram of your professor pops up on the left side of your room. Then the projector from your computer turns on and points to the screen revealing the PowerPoint slides. You are listening to the professor to go through the slides of the class topic for the day. You are taking notes on your computer or notebook as the lesson continues. If you have a question, there is a red button to press to notify the processor. He or she stops immediately to allow you to ask your question on the speaker that is next to the red button. This cycle continues until the hour and a half long class is over. The homework assignment is immediately displayed so it can be accomplished before the next class. You leave the room to get changed for work after setting a reminder on your mobile device to finish the homework when your shift is done.
Fifty years ago, students were excited to get a T-90X calculator and a brand new digital watch because that was the technology then. Fifty years from now, our society will most likely take advantage of technology's rapid growth and allow classes to be done at the convenience of our home right before an event or work. This method could also be more comfortable of our home right before an event or work. This method could also be more comfortable for new moms to set up their class schedules so their child or children can be care for as they take their class. That is how I see the future of our education in the next fifty years
