Aspiring to Inspire by Dua - July 2015 Scholarship Essay

The excitement, the rush, the longing to move out and go to college, to live up to the experience and fulfill our goals, is something everyone has in their mind. Not all , however, desire the same unique accomplishments as I do. When I go to college, I don't just want to attend to complete my education and graduate, but I want to gain an insightful experience full of memories and new people. I want to explore different fields and find out what best interests me, encounter new people and the cultures they bring with them. I want to find a specific passion, something that not only brings joy and happiness into my life, but to others as well. When I go to college, I want to make a difference in people's’ lives, whether it be by running a large club or doing small, cordial gestures like passing out roses. I hope to bring knowledge about the incorrect stereotypes, to at least one person, and make that person think in a more positive, optimistic light. It is my goal to free the minds of as many people I can and bring positive vibes their way.

In order to do so, one of my main goals that I hope to accomplish in college is setting up a group that inspires high schoolers to happily come go into college without the stress and anxiety, that I once faced. By creating an organization that eases the minds of stressed students and gives free information, high-schoolers everywhere will have relatable students to talk to and gain more connections. After this plan has been implemented it will hopefully diminish the ever growing college fear, increase confidence, and create a network of similar students going through the same situations. “A goal without a plan is just a wish”, so I hope the plans I have made will be implemented when I go to college, for a brighter more positive shift.
