An Educators Impact on The Future by Diana - June 2020 Scholarship Essay

When choosing a career people mostly go for the one that will impact the future, or sometimes lean more towards completing their dreams and hopefully having a big impact. I for one lean towards the second option; the career that has always caught my eye even as a child was being an educator. As an educator you have so much responsibility in your hands, as well as any other career of course, you have to teach the individuals that are in your class of the subject but also teach them manners and keep them going in the right path whether it is the star student that always gets A’s or the student that causes trouble every day in your class regardless it is important that equality is always in the classroom and the school. As an educator you have so many things to teach but you also learn from your students and it is important to have an open mind for these lesson that help you become a better teacher.
As I choose this important career I have to keep in mind that in a way you are like a second less important parent; everything that you do and the way you react in a class can effect how your students learn and act in the future. A strict teacher may teach a student to be more organized while a layback teacher might teach their students that sometimes you can get away from certain things. However, I plan to be both a perfect blend of them but that is easier said than done; I want to be strict in order to show my students that organization is key and that working hard is important to get what you want on the other hand I don’t want to exhaust my students to the point that they give up and end up ditching school. It is important to be able to balance both in order to keep the future students more involve in education instead of boring them with the lesson.
Every student has their own pace, they go at their own speed in this race and it is important to yes help them out by slowing down but also pushing them to keep trying to not stay too behind since you only get a small time in each lesson given to you by the district. I hope to encourage my future students to speak up and ask questions and not to stay quiet when they don’t understand just how I did in most of my high school years. I hope to treat each one of them equal because every kid has the potential to achieve their dreams and be successful in the future. I hope to make a positive impact in their life as have many of my teachers. I hope to teach them how to be hardworking and patient; to help them when they need emotional help when they need an adult. I hope to be able to provide them every day with happiness and new information that will benefit them in the future.
I hope to bring good change and instead of students hating school and refusing to even learn anything I want them to do a complete 180 and enjoy their school years but to also benefit from the lessons they learn. With this change I hope to achieve, and am determined to achieve, for my future students to carry the same dream I have and for this dream, for this goal to encourage future generations to keep the chain going. The three goals that I wish to accomplish is to have the perfect balance of laidback and strict, to treat all my students equally, and to give them all the education necessary to succeed in life. Although these sound unrealistic I’ve had many teachers that have made a huge impact that I wish to share with others in my future career of an educator.
