What it Means to Succeed. by Destiny - February 2021 Scholarship Essay

What it means to me to succeed in college is to give all the effort you can give to a goal. Giving your all to your schoolwork and classes and seeing it paying off is a success in itself. I believe that when you put your all into something, you will get great reward for your efforts. One of the things my mom has always said to me is that my schooling comes naturally to me. When in reality I struggle with at least one assignment every day. I give my all so that I can succeed and get the chance to go to college and be the first to show the younger children in my family that we can make it to college and graduate as long as you give it your all. So many people would not be in the places that they are in today if they did not try. I know that I would not be where I am right now if I would have given up every time things got hard for me. You never know you could be the next Beyoncé and never know it because you did not try.
Having your face plastered across billboards, but it is reaching a point in life that is better than where you were before. Many people are successful in their own way. My mom is successful; she keeps clothes on the backs of all her children because she works so hard every day, she makes us smile everyday although she is tired from a 12-hour shift. There is always one moment where you just know that you have succeeded and reached your goal. You can be successful more than once in life. Like right now I am at a point where I feel successful. I have reached my senior year of high school getting ready to graduate.
In my life, I have made so many goals and I’ve been successful in them. In elementary school, it was a goal of mine to make it into the AAP classes, I took the tests, I applied myself and in fifth grade, I passed the test to get into the AAP class in middle school. I had succeeded. In middle school the goal was simply, make it to high school. I did that too. Now in high school, my true goal has been to graduate and over the years, I have been pushing myself to get to the top of the senior class. The feeling success is not just a onetime feeling. It can happen at any moment. You might have been trying to open a jar of pickles and when you finally get it open, you feel success. As long as you continue to push yourself and try to the best of your abilities, you are bound to succeed.
