Inspirational Quote by Destiny - February 2014 Scholarship Essay

"It always seems impossible until it's done." - Nelson Mandela. This is one of my favorite quotes because it gives me courage to strive for the things I want to achieve in life. I also enjoy this quote because the man who said it was an exceptionally inspiring human being.

This quote has influenced me by reminding me that even though something seems impossible at the time it can be done with some hard work and dedication. People have been able to do many great and wonderful things by making an effort to achieve something that seemed impossible. Less than one hundred years ago what we recognize as the modern computer was invented. Before its creation most people had never even dreamed a machine so complex could be built.

Nelson Mandela inspires me because of the scores of hardships and obstacles he had to overcome in his life. Throughout it all he still held an optimistic point of view. He was trying to pull off something that seemed impossible. He was able to take his country from apartheid to a democracy.

This quote has helped me in my everyday life by allowing me to dream and reach for things that seem impossible. It also gives me the hope to have faith that in the future my dreams may perhaps be a possibility.
