Education plays many vital roles in today’s society, without it we would not be advancing as we are. Learning is all about expanding your mind, giving yourself more potential. Though all education is not only gained through school, every day we learn and grow. We attend school so that we learn the needed material and skills for the specific field of work we plan to attend. School teaches us what we need to know about the work place, and skills needed to ensure we stay financial steady but another type of education is what we teach ourselves, from what others teach us.

Everyday life teaches us new lessons, whether it is how to drive or how to ride a bike. A child’s education builds up to how we learn as adults. What we learn as a child helps us as an adult. A lesson learned from the trials of life is just as important as those taught in a classroom. Without the ability to learn our society would not thrive as it does so today. An educated society is a society that has potential to do great things. We often take what seems like insignificant lessons for granted without realizing that every little thing we learn builds up, revolving into a whole new lesson. The learning we do before school, after school prepares us for the learning that takes place in school.

Education is broken up into many pieces, elementary school, middle school, high school, college, each leg of our journey prepares us for the next. Each one is a big accomplishment since it shows we are ready to go through life’s journeys. If high school teaches students one thing, it is that after high school reality kicks in. High school is about having fun, showing what potential we have. College brings that potential out, it prepares us for the life we want to make. In college each person is working for their degree, it is their choice to be there. Since college is not mandatory college falls under the education we give ourselves. The professors teach the material it is up to the students to learn it.

The purpose of education is to bring our full potential out. Without it we would not have cell phones, cars, or any of the luxuries we take for granted. Those luxuries are possible from people taking their education and doing amazing things with it. An education is the first step to doing whatever you want to do. If one wants to invent something it cannot be done without having the proper education. We take education so seriously since our existence depends on it. Whether people admit it or not, life circles around education among other things.
