TED Topic by Deonte - July 2017 Scholarship Essay
From what I have gathered and learned TED talk they spread ideas in powerful ways to audiences in a short manner. Given the opportunity to give and educational TED talk my topic would be: self-confidence in yourself and the understanding of what a support system is. I chose this topic or scenario, because as I go through my daily life and encounter different individuals. I have come to the conclusion that not everyone around them realizes that they can propel themselves to a higher level in life. It all starts with the self confidence and believing in yourself. I just don’t believe that people have a lot of that at their disposal. So they limit themselves to their environment and the state of mind. This is terrible because I have seen a lot of great minds. Go to terrible waste and when they could have rose and became something bigger than what they are.
Another thought I want to lead into is having a support system around you. Telling someone “good job” can go a long way to making them feel good about themselves and continuing to work. People have to realize, who and what a support system is. The ones around you who make sure you have everything, they make sure that you are not depleted. They support you and they give you everything in order for you to succeed. It is good to recognize that and that there are people routing for you to be great and be successful in life.
In conclusion, if I were asked to give a TED talk and want it to be powerful. I would choose self-confidence and support system. Cause I feel like people with the highest amount of potential lack those two things that could, and are actually able to propel themselves and their life in general.
