My Dream College and What Makes It Unique by Darius - August 2020 Scholarship Essay

My University is unique because of our close community and the environment that we create as a unit. Were stronger together than apart and it's amazing that our school I known for our performing arts program as a whole because it makes us feel special. I have a home away from home, and at every college you might not get that experience. Being a small campus, we all know each other, and having great classmates, teachers, and professor's makes it worthwhile. Furthermore, I believe that we have many characteristics that make us unique.

In addition, I am a senior in college now, and I learned over the past couple of months that my education is what's kept me going, and my passion for arts and theatre as well. It fuels my soul, and what I learned is that life will get me down sometimes, but I must pick myself back up again. I felt as if I grew so much mentally, emotionally and spiritually this semester and I believe that I deserve this scholarship because I never gave up and I never will. I felt that Oklahoma City University was a good college program for me because it's one of the colleges that is known for the musical theatre, dance, and theatre program. I decided to pursue my dream of becoming an actor and singer because there's this burning fire inside of me every time I get on stage. I always love the aspect of doing a show and telling a story that can possibly change someone's life in the audience, and that’s what's so beautiful about arts in general. The world is always changing of course but I chose the right career in this changing world because people will always want to watch TV or see movies. They will want to go to concerts and see their favorite artist, or band and I believe that with all my hard work I can achieve my goal of being a successful actor one day. I want to be able to get on screen and tell stories that will bring joy, laughter to people around the world, and to just tell stories that mean something
