When I first began school at three years old, I remember classes having chalkboards and dry erase boards. All of our work was done with paper and pencil. We looked for information in textbooks and grades were marked in grade books. In this new technological age, technology has been implemented into the classroom and had a positive effect on our classroom experience.

With the Internet, students now have the ability to have any questions answered in seconds. When diving into the internet, there are various study tools, such as Khan Academy, Cool Math, and Spark Notes that are an additional aide to our learning that can put any student ahead and prepared for class. Also, the rise of computers is a benefit for students, teachers, and parents.

Many schools now provide a working computer for students as a part of their curriculum. This allows for students to be able to access assignments that teachers send out through sites such as Google Classroom, a website that allows for teachers to keep all assignments and notes in one area so students can easily access the information and turn in homework. Also, with the advancement of technology, it allows parents and students to have easier/faster access to the teachers outside the classroom, through applications such as Email and Skype.

Finally, guaranteeing every student access to technology mimics what a student will be doing once they enter the work environment, since almost every job requires some type of computer experience, technology is preparing us now for opportunities tomorrow.
