The Study Schedule by Courtney - January 2014 Scholarship Essay
The most effective study method for myself through out high school would be my study schedule.
I started using my study schedule half way through my freshman year. My grades started to drop because I never knew when I had tests or quizzes. My study schedule consisted of a variety of information on it. Each day I set out certain times for certain classes to be studied. I would have the amount of time that I would spend studying for a certain class. Once my time was up studying for the certain class of the day I would go onto the next class that was supposed to be reviewed, but if I did not feel comfortable with the class I was studying for before I would always add extra time.
All of my classes were color coded. This helped a lot. Sooner or later I had the colors down to heart. I knew exactly which color went with which class. Color coding and highlighting were the best things I could do. The kept me extremely organized and I wasn’t constantly trying to figure out which class I was having to study for that day.
Each of my classes also had a certain day that I would study for them. I used this even if I did not have a test that week but I kept me informed on the information that we had learned for that week. It also helped so I wasn’t cramming all the information I had forgotten back into my head. Sometimes the study days did change so I could spend more time and certain days for major test that I had during the week.
The study schedule I keep and still kept has helped me tremendously throughout high school. It was a great organization tool for me. I would recommend it for anyone at any grade level because it keeps you on top you’re school work and schedule.
