Brighter futre by Chyenne - October 2014 Scholarship Essay
When I think of my ideal classroom for college, I think of small class rooms. There are many different reasons that smaller classes will help me get my RN. For instance, smaller classrooms may make the average student feel more comfortable and encourage them to reach out to the teacher for more help.
When I am surrounded by many people, I often feel uncomfortable. I believe that if I am in a college classroom of 18-20 students I will be more comfortable asking questions about the lessons. Not only do smaller classrooms make you feel more comfortable, but they enable you to have a better relationship with your professor. If you were at a larger school, your professor may not even notice whether or not you come to class. However, in a smaller classroom setting, your teacher would know you by name and they would be able to tell who was in class that day. Assuming that you have a good relationship with your professor, you would most likely feel more comfortable asking for help. If you go to a larger college, the professor might get annoyed with you wanting help because they expect you to understand like the 100-200 other students that were in the classroom. If you are in a smaller classroom, your teacher may feel better about helping you and understanding that you learn different from other people. Smaller classrooms are all together a better learning environment for me and will definitely help me succeed in my schooling.
