Be the change, don’t wait for it by Christian - February 2020 Scholarship Essay

My name is Christian terry and I currently take care of my younger siblings aged 16 (sister) aged 5 (brother) and aged 1 (sister) of course not by myself my wonderful mother is the main care taker. I help her as much as I can and I believe as an older brother you must embody responsibility whether or not you are ready. I love to play basketball in my off time and I try to play as often as I have time for, but I also love to work out and take care of my physical body. The mental is also necessary to take care of as I take pride in how I deal with issues that go in within my life as if you are surrounded by negativity the end result will be negative. I also understand the impact that you leave with people so I keep a smile on my face at all times in order to make others smile, by putting other people first, then I will be able to accomplish much more with plenty of supporters who have my back.
In order to see success you must be able to understand that if you wait for things to change in your life then it’ll never change and you will never feel fulfilled. You must be aggressive and that is why I understand that I must attack every scholarship with a competitive mindset and if I do not achieve more than I did yesterday then I am not growing. Every mistake and every failure lead to becoming a more experienced individual by understanding what went wrong and finding ways to do better.
Personal development is one thing I enjoy to practice and execute into my daily life and routine because if I am unable to help myself get to the top then I am unable to take friends and family to the top as well and I won’t be in a position where I am able to inspire and leave an impact on everybody I meet:
