Looking to the future by Charles - October 2019 Scholarship Essay

I think that I am most motivated academically by thinking of what I might need in the future. So I would say I am my own motivator, or more accurately who I want to be is my own academic motivator. As I get closer to college and as I realise more and more what I would like to do my motivation has become clearer. I know that to be who I want to I will need to work hard and I convince myself that if I just power through these years my effort will be paid back in spades. I currently take college classes alongside my high school classes and hanging on to this idea I have been able to weather some really intimidating workloads. I think by doing this I manage to improve my goals as well as I sharpen what I am working towards every time I am in a rough spot

I also think that others have had a not insignificant effect on my motivation, and I hope that my motivator does not read as my discounting of others. I would say that everyone that motivates me constitutes about sixty percent of my will to press onwards with schooling, and I am extremely grateful that I have a group of people willing to spend their time to help me.
