Leaders are everywhere. You have political leaders, public activist, even community leaders. Now, do people need to have leadership skills in order to be successful in college? Former President Abraham Lincoln, Bank of America founder Amadeo Peter Giannini, Kodak founder George Eastman, Walt Disney founder of the Walt Disney Company, and many more famous leaders did not attend college. So whose to say that its necessary to have leadership skills for college success? I believe that leadership is a character trait that you either have or you don't. Colleges can't teach you how to stand up and lead a group or organization it is a skill that you must choose to acquire yourself. The famous leaders that you see today had a drive to complete and achieve what they got done today. Everyone has a different calling in life.

College is a higher education set up to prepare you for your future career. If your career doesn't require you to have traits of a leader does that mean that you have failed to obtain college success? College success is determined by things that you would like to achieve before you move on to your career. Leadership skills doesn't determine how successful you are in college. Some may argue and say that in order to be successful in college you should be required to have leadership skills, well everyone don't have the drive or motivation to become a leader, therefore I believe college success can be achieved without leadership skills.
