From Failure to Success by Brayan - February 2017 Scholarship Essay
In life one is prone to fail but failure isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes it is an experience we all have to pass through in order to succeed and accomplish more than what we expect to accomplish. For the most part we all learn from our failures and try not to do them ever again. A moment in my life I failed at something, but later used my failure to learn from my mistakes and improve.
The moment when I failed was in the school year of 2015-2016. That was my junior year and it was a very tough year for me since by the end of the school year I had failed my precalculus class. As a result I have to currently take this class all over again knowing that their will be no more chances, it's either I pass or fail the class. In top of all of this I have a lot of pressure since I need this class to graduate and even to go to college.
This year though, I learned from my failure the year before and ended up passing my first semester of precalculus. I learned not to slack off or to get lazy in class. I learned to stay strong keep on striving until the end. It was a moment of relief since I knocked off a semester and only have one left. Although, through the course of the semester I did want to slack off and not do some homework and just pass with a “C” average score, this did not happened. I made it through the end and persisted to the end with an “A” in the class. This is a huge difference compared to my last year grade since last year I earned a “F” grade. I didn’t do homework or even tried a bit. I had the mindset that I was going to fail no matter what and it came out to be true because I had that mentality. This year though, I learned and had the mentality that I was going to pass no matter what.
