“ Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other” (John F. Kennedy). The ability to lead and learn are priceless gifts that are greatly undervalued . Knowledge is a power that can carry one to new heights in life. Possessing leadership qualities will ensure success in all facets of life. College is the foreground for a healthy establishment of these skills and abilities, and using them in combination can lead to a successful life .
Knowledge earned from college can open up a plethora of opportunities otherwise unknown to those who do not choose to pursue a higher education. Knowledge can provide the means to provide for oneself and one’s respective family. Possessing a vast assortment of knowledge allows for unlimited possibilities which can potentially be boundless, or without restriction. A person equipped with this knowledge can choose any career imaginable and find great success. Using this earned knowledge in conjunction with leadership skills in college will establish a foundation to achieve success in life.
Leadership skills such as vision, responsibility, time-management, consciousness, integrity, and influence characterize what one’s college career should behold. Vision is being able to see ahead and set goals. Without a foreseeable outcome one cannot define or hope to achieve success. Responsibility is imperative in college as well as life. Accountability and trustworthiness fall into this trait and are very important. Time-management is everything in college. College students have free reign to do as they please and make their own schedules, however setting aside ample time for one’s studies is imperative. Being conscious of your situation and surroundings help to see situations for what they are and act accordingly. Integrity above all things shows the strength of one’s moral character. Leaders influence a following, college students looking to affect change in the world need this to be successful.
In conclusion, leadership and learning used together can yield high success in college and later in life. Knowledge opens up the opportunities while leadership skills and abilities determine the extent of success. Leadership skills are necessary for the foundation of success in life, which is college.
